Leonard Diepenbrock
MANAGING DIRECTOR
„Across generations, TOX has been more than a company – it’s part of our family. This tradition and the support of a close-knit family have carried us for over 80 years, giving our customers lasting security and trust.”
1941
“Everything began with buttons. In a small Berlin workshop – founded by Richard Walter Heckhausen – our family initially produced simple everyday buttons. But before long, it became more: buttons gave rise to our first fastening ideas.”
1950
“In the 1950s, our product range was still quite varied – from small hardware items and setting tools to fasteners and power tools like drills. But it soon became clear: our focus was increasingly on wall plugs – across development, manufacturing, and sales.”
1960
“In February 1960, Leslie Heckhausen – son of our company founder and by then fully responsible for TOX – relocated our company headquarters to Bodman-Ludwigshafen on Lake Constance.”
1973
“Those fastening ideas eventually became TOX plugs. In 1973 came the decisive step: the invention of our all-purpose plug, TRI – the original that has shaped our brand.”
2006
“Together with Isabelle Heckhausen (now Diepenbrock), who led TOX in the third generation, I also took over the management. That same year, we relocated to Krauchenwies – our current headquarters – also to improve our internal logistics.”
2013
“This year, I founded Jean&Len with a vision: personal care that combines the best of nature and science – vegan, effective, and modern in design. Under the umbrella of L.I.S.A Holding, Jean&Len is now part of our group of companies alongside TOX. It all started with children’s shampoos – free from silicones, parabens, and animal-derived ingredients.”
2024
“With our new screw catalog, we have expanded our plug range to include TOX screws in professional quality – another step in our continued development. This allows us to meet the demand for complete fastening solutions from a single source, tested and certified, and built to the quality standards TOX has stood for since 1941.”
